Even though it seems as though they’re meant for the grand mansions, feather dusters are actually for everyone. “Why?” you ask, because these dusters are super durable, and they are all-purpose! Ostrich down feathers are thick and soft and really capture dust. Although they can be on the expensive side, feather dusters made of other types of feathers or synthetic materials won’t work. Another natural material that you should consider is wool. Wool dusters attract and collect dust with static and natural lanolin in the fibers. Microfiber works so well because it is made of tiny filaments that rub together, creating static electricity. This static attracts dust, making dust removal fast and simple. Microfiber is also washable and reusable, making it one of the most economically-friendly dusters around.
Microfiber dusters are manufactured in a variety of styles. Several are plain hand dusters, with an easy-grip handle that lets you steer the duster out of corners and across high shelves. A few also come with extendable handles to aid you to reach the tops of door frames and photo frames. There is, however, a certain kind of duster that is very specific for window blinds. A disposable dusting pad is another one to consider. These dusters are made from tiny polyester fibers and rely on static electricity to attract and remove dust. Whether you opt for the name brand or the generic ones, these dusting pads essentially work the same way; and, they come in either dusting kits with a reusable handle or packs of refill pads. Numerous users prefer to use these dusters because they can easily throw the pad away once it’s visibly dirty.
Compressed Air
Finally, if you need to dust delicate electronic devices or small crevices, one of the best dusters you can use is compressed air. The compressed air comes in cans that you can spray onto whatever surface or pocket you’re trying to dust. You can use this in conjunction with other dusters, as well, to make sure you get a thorough cleaning done.
